Decrease® is a fabric finishing technology that imparts a suite of “carefree” properties to apparel fabrics. When you see the Decrease“ logo you should expect that your garment will provide:

1. The most durable soil-release and stain resistance available today.
2. Excellent wrinkle-free performance.
3. Excellent crease retention.
4. Excellent fade-resistant performance.
5. Excellent shrinkage control.

Several technologies available today can provide one or some of the properties that Decrease® delivers. The application of these technologies, however, is temporary, and usually affects the softness of the fabric. The primary difference is that the Decrease® properties are durable and last through a lifetime of home washings without affecting the comfortable look and feel of natural cotton. No other technology offers the full suite of properties delivered by Decrease® with this level of durability.

Picture cotton in its raw form. Cotton resembles a closed fist. Spinning, carding and combing the cotton fibers "opens the fingers" until they are fully extended. But when the fabric is wet, cotton tries to return to its original "closed fist" shape. Next

Most other stain-resistant/wrinkle-resistant treatments coat the surface of the cotton fibers with various chemicals. This type of process has several major drawbacks:

1. Many of those chemicals impart an unnatural look and feel to the fabric and affect its natural breathability.
2. As you may have noticed, most "wrinkle-free" clothing isn't really care free.
3. Most soil-release treatments simply do not last.
